Vice President Osinbajo assures Lagos more federal presence.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has pledged the federal government’s commitment to build more infrastructure in Lagos State if the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the February 16 presidential elections.

The vice president, during his door-to-door campaign at Oworonsoki, Ketu, Alapere, and Ojota yesterday, said Lagos remains vital to the Federal Government.

He also visited the paramount ruler of Kosofe & Oloworo of Oworoland, Oba Olohuntoyin Salau.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Lagos East, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, has assured President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Osinbajo, of the support of people from his zone, saying there is no alternative to continuity.

Osinbajo said the APC was in the opposition for 16 years, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that was in control did nothing to better the lot of Lagos. He promised that APC would not relent until it gives the state its due.

He commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for working in agreement with the government at the center.

“That was why we are moving forward and doing some projects for Lagos. I believe the standard-bearer of Lagos APC in the coming governorship election, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will emulate his predecessor if elected in March.

“I want to assure you that Lagos and Kosofe will enjoy more federal presence. We will attract more federal projects to Lagos.”
