Protesters plan mass action on Badagry express.
Nigerians are being mobilized for mass action to protest against the poor state of the Badagry expressway from the Mile 2 Roundabout on Tuesday, October 30, and Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
The road, a major corridor to the West African region, which has been under construction since 2009, has caused serious pains to Lagos people, as construction work had dragged on for almost 10 years.
Youths, market women, Community Development Areas (CDAs), students, civil servants, drivers, and other road users are to converge at Badagry Roundabout, Aradagun Junction, Muwo Junction, Oko-Afo Junction, Magbon Junction, and Agbara Junction.
They will also converge at Acoed Roundabout, Iyana-Era, Iyana-Ishashi, Okokomaiko, LASU Junction, Iyana-Iba, Volkswagen, Agric Bus Stop, ASPAMDA, Abule-Ado, Alakija, Agboju and Mile 2 bus stops for the protest.
The organizers say no vehicle shall be allowed on the road during the two-day event, which will hold between 7:00 am and to 6:00 pm daily.
“Our politicians have failed us and the only way to resolve the situation is through mass action. Journalists and other media men are enjoined to cover this noble cause so that the whole world will know the plight of Nigerians on the road,” they said.
