PDP Recruiting Russian Hackers To Rig 2019 Elections, APC Alleges.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of plotting to recruit Russian hackers to manipulate next year’s general elections.

APC’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, alleged that the Russian hackers have been positioned to hack into the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to achieve the goal.

He also claimed that the recent visit of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, National Chairman, Uche Secondus, Senate President Bukola Saraki and other party leaders to Dubai was in line with the objective of rigging the polls.

“The Electoral Act we are using now was created by the PDP. You created a Bill and now you are afraid to use what you created. Does that sound right?

“What the PDP is doing right now is playing out what it designed in Dubai. They started with inciting a strike from labour on the minimum wage to cause a problem in the country, but it didn’t work. They brought ASUU strike, which also did not work and they now tried to create fuel scarcity.

“These were all part of plots they planned in Dubai. The next plan is on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill. Their plan is that if the President refused to sign the Bill, they will go and demonstrate, and we are waiting for them. How can you put in the Bill that once the votes are cast, you just transmit, instead of counting first? That is part of the Dubai plot.

“They planned to bring some Russians to help them hack the system. That is their joker. Once the President signed the Bill, they will just bring in the Russians to help them hack into the system,” he stated

Meanwhile, to forestall crisis and divisions that affected their party in the 2015 elections, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have advised members to shun segregation and work towards winning the 2019 elections.

The party’s candidates in Ijebu North East who spoke at a solidarity and town hall meeting organized by the zone, urged members in Ogun State and the country to come together to achieve their common goal.

The advice, which came five days after President Muhamadu Buhari set up a committee to resolve issues raised by some aggrieved party members was aimed at resolving all differences before the 2019 elections.

They agreed that divisions can only polarise the party and its votes diverted to other political parties, a situation they said, would impede its victory in the coming elections.

An APC governorship aspirant, Dapo Abiodun; House of Representatives candidate for Ijebu North East, Kolapo Korede Osunsanya and a House of Assembly candidate, Ijebu North East, Fasuwa Abayomi Jonhson who spoke at the meeting stressed the needs for members to work together as a team and win the polls.

Osunsanya, who is also the Senior Special Assistant on Transportation to Governor Ibikunle Amosun, appealed to all Nigerians to vote en masse for the party in the elections, saying: “We have started a good course and we should remain in power to give Nigerians the real change they are actually yearning for.”
