Buhari committed to infrastructure development in N’Delta, says NDDC boss.
The executive director (projects) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Adjogbe, at the weekend restated the commitment of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to sustainable infrastructural development in the region.
He made the disclosure in Asaba during the 7th Annual National Dinner of the Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association (GCUOBA), where he promised that the commission would embark on the renovation of two hostel blocks at the college.
Adjogbe, an alumnus of the institution, said: “Every achievement of the NDDC remains attributable to the mandate of Mr. President for the Niger Delta region. Government College Ughelli is just one of many public schools in the Niger Delta region to have felt the impact of this mandate.”
Adjogbe, who is also the South-South patron of the Buhari Support Group Centre, added: “The change mantra of restoring our institutions back to their glorious days has long kicked off through the NDDC school renovation programme, the supply of desks and benches and emergency internal road repairs in some schools.”
He received an award presented to the NDDC by GCUOBA. He thanked the association for the recognition and dedicated the award to Buhari.
Presenting the award, president general, GCUOBA Worldwide, Prof. Oritsegbemi Omatete, said the gesture was in recognition of the commission’s commitment to the mandate of making a difference in communities and institutions in its operational area.
