Akeredolu donates 18 buses for Buhari’s re-election campaign.
Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, began the re-election campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari at the weekend with a donation of 18 buses.
The governor handed over the buses to the chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 18 councils of the state while hosting leaders and members of the party to an end-of-year party.
The event, held at the open field beside the Nigeria Prison Service, GRA, Owo, attracted party loyalists and top government functionaries.
The deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi; Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ifedayo Abegunde; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Gbenga Ale; and other members of the State Executive Council were at the event.
Leaders of the party across the state, including Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Senator Yele Omogunwa, members of the House of Assembly led by the deputy speaker, Ogundeji Iroju; and other eminent personalities also attended.
The gathering, which has become a yearly ritual, afforded the party leaders and members the opportunity to gather and exchange pleasantries as the year runs out.
Apart from the funfair, the gathering has also been effective in bringing unity and love into the party.
Governor Akeredolu led leaders of the party and top government functionaries to cut the event’s cake.
While presenting the buses to the council chairmen of the party, Akeredolu described the 2019 elections as very important to the APC and the state, adding that the buses were meant to mobilize members of the party in the state.
